The Interventions that help diagnose the disease.

Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy

A small flexible instrument is introduced through the nose into the airways, under mild sedation to obtain various samples from within the lungs to diagnose a variety of lung conditions ranging from mild infection to life-threatening cancers.

The Samples could be a simple washing to various biopsies taken with specialized forceps - like, Endobronchial Biopsy, Transbronchial Lung Biopsy, Cryobiopsy etc.

EBUS TBNA

Bronchoscopy

EBUS or Endo Bronchial Ultra Sound is a specialized bronchoscope that has an ultrasound probe mounted on it. The ultrasound helps to identify various lymph nodes around the breathing tubes/airway. These enlarged lymphnodes can be sampled under real time guidance of the ultrasound.

The Lymph nodes swell up in various cancerous and infective conditions. The procedure is pain free and can be done on outpatient basis as well.

In this test, sensors are put on various parts of your body to obtain information for the level of sleep, the pattern of snoring, body position, the breathing pattern, O2 levels, heart rate, and rhythm amongst others. All this is done while you are sleeping.
